Daily Itinerary

Breakfast (B) | Lunch (L) | Dinner (D) | Drury Dinners (DD)

Day 1/2

BRAINERD – MINNEAPOLIS – CHARLESTON

We overnight near the Minnneapolis airport for our flight. The next morning we board our flight to historic Charleston and transfer to our hotel for the next three nights. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening. (B D)

Day 3

CHARLESTON

We greet our Charleston guide this morning for a City Tour of Charleston. Our tour includes highlights of the famed Charleston Battery, the Charleston citadel, Rainbow Row, Hampton Park, and many others. We visit Magnolia Plantation which has survived the centuries and witnessed the history of our nation unfold before it from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. It has the oldest public gardens in America with thousands of beautiful flowers and plants. After lunch we visit the Warren Lasch Conservation Center to see The Hunley. It was the first submarine ever to sink an enemy ship. Lost at sea for over a century, the Hunley was raised in 2000. Enjoy free time to enjoy the Charleston Fresh Air Market. Don’t forget to stop and take in the craftsmanship of the locals as you enjoy seeing the one of a kind sweetgrass baskets take shape. Enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many restaurants in the Historic Market area before returning to our hotel for the evening. (B L)

Day 4

CHARLESTON

We tour the Charleston Tea Plantation this morning with a chance to sample some of their products. After lunch, you’ll enjoy a relaxed boat ride with commentary about the many points of interest in Charleston Harbor on our way to Fort Sumter, which is possibly the most historic military site in the nation. The first shot of the US Civil War was fired at Fort Sumter from Fort Johnson in 1861. (B L)

Day 5

BEAUFORT

This morning we head to Beaufort to experience the rich history and Culture of the Gullah people. After lunch, experience Beaufort‘s rich history and unique charm on a fully narrated Beaufort Horse-drawn Carriage Tour. You’ll slip back into Beaufort’s elegant past as your carriage meanders under the moss-covered Live Oaks, past breathtaking Antebellum homes, historic churches, movie sites, and more. Later travel to Savannah where we will spend the next three evenings. (B L)

Day 6

SAVANNAH

Today we enjoy the day exploring Savannah with our Hop On/Hop Off Trolley Tour! Savannah’s history is alive with the successful restoration projects by the Historic Savannah Foundation. This evening, enjoy home-style southern cooking at a local restaurant! (B D)

Day 7

TYBEE ISLAND

Welcome to Tybee Island—Savannah’s Beach! Tybee is Savannah’s inner child, where a cultured southern lady raised with the best manners can let her hair down and take her shoes off and wiggle her feet freely in the sugary sands, without a care in the world! We depart for a Scenic Cruise on the inlets to the back river of Tybee. We travel to the Tybee Lighthouse for a short tour. Then on to Ms. Linda’s home, Tybreeza—a historic raised Tybee cottage circa 1918. You will be treated to a traditional Low Country Boil with signature drinks upon arrival. This will be an evening to recall for years as new friends connect, share stories, and learn how Southerners entertain at the beach! (B D)

Day 8

SAVANNAH-BRAINERD

This morning we bid farewell to Georgia and transfer to the Savannah airport for our flight home, where we transfer to our motorcoach for our short trip back to Brainerd. (B)
