Day 1

BRAINERD – AMANA

Depart Brainerd with pickups enroute and travel to Amana, Iowa. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965, the Amana Colonies attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, all of whom come to see and enjoy a place where the past is cherished and where hospitality is a way of life. The Amana Colonies represent an American dream come true; a thriving German community founded on ingenuity, faith, and community spirit. We stay in Amana at the historic Hotel Millwright for three nights. Tonight we will enjoy a delicious dinner. (D)

Day 2

QUAD CITIES

You’re in for a fun time today with an Oktoberfest Polka Cruise aboard the Celebration Belle. Barefoot Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen will have your toes a tapping and the dance floor full! You can expect a mix of your favorite Oktoberfest polkas, waltzes and a mix of some party favorites. Even the crew joins in! We head back to Amana with time to explore this beautiful village at your own pace. (B L)

Day 3

AMANA

Today we enjoy a guided tour of key historic sites in the Amana Colonies. We head out to learn and experience their unique heritage and journey from Germany to Iowa. You’ll learn about their communal life before 1932, including gardens, agriculture, religion, and way of communal living. We will stop at various places such as the Amana Heritage Society, the Heritage Church & the High Amana General Store to learn about the lives of these hearty settlers. A family style Amana dinner awaits us at the Ox Yoke Inn. Next we enjoy the classic comedy The Odd Couple at the Amana Performing Arts Center. (B D)

Day 4

AMANA – BRAINERD

After breakfast we head north through Iowa and into Minnesota. Enjoy an included farewell lunch before we return to Brainerd with memories of rolling on the river! (B L)

"Thanks for the great bus trip!"

My first time on a bus. Had a very good time and saw lots of great things. You're a very good tour guy. Liked your sense of humor. Met some very nice people. Really enjoyed Elvis. Hope to take another trip in the future. Thanks again.

"I look forward to all my tours with PTS!"

Thank you for taking good care of me and the other travelers on the Mexican Cruise. From the time we left Brainerd until our return, you were always there for us.

"It is a treat to have real travel pros like yourself worry about the details."

Though still "virtual rookies", Joyce and I want to thank you for welcoming us into the caring arms of both yourself and all the many friends of the Tour who travel with you regularly.

- Larry and Joyce

"It was a delightful smorgasbord of variety, interest, new experiences and fun."
