Day 1-2
BRAINERD – DUBLIN
We head out to the Minneapolis-St Paul Airport for our overnight flight to Ireland! We arrive in the morning at the Dublin Airport where we’ll meet our guide and transfer to our hotel in the scenic outskirts of Dublin for some light refreshments prior to check in. Freshen up before enjoying a Traditional Irish Dinner with music this evening. (B D)
Day 3
DUBLIN
After a hearty breakfast we’re off to Ireland’s most visited landmark—the Guinness Storehouse. We’ll go inside to see how this famous drink is made and why, as the well known Irish verse says, “it’s good for you”. Later, we visit the Epic Ireland Museum—a museum going through the entire story of Irish emigration to the four corners of the world for centuries. We’ll return to the hotel for some rest and a free evening to explore our surroundings. (B)
Day 4
DUBLIN – BALLYVAUGHAN
Today we’ll depart from Ireland’s capital and head west. We’ll stop at the ruins of Clonmacnoise—an ancient monastery known for its picturesque setting. We’ll make a stop at a traditional Irish farm for some cheese tasting and a light lunch. Tonight you may wish to enjoy one of the local pubs. (B L)
Day 5
“THE WILD ATLANTIC WAY”
Today is one of the first of many days where we will uncover Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way—a breathtaking route along the western coast of Ireland. We journey through Burren National Park, a landscape renowned for its limestone rock and lunar-like terrain. Our next stop will be at the Cliffs of Moher, where you’ll experience jaw-dropping views while walking along cliffs. Later, we’ll visit a Salmon Smokehouse where Irish smoked salmon is delicately crafted. (B)
Day 6
BALLYVAUGHAN – KILLARNEY
Our first stop will be Craggaunowen, an ancient Celtic dwelling situated in the middle of a lake. Later, we’ll visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park—one of Ireland’s best-preserved medieval strongholds. After, we’ll make a quick stop at the Bunratty Mead Distillery. We overnight in Killarney for the next two evenings. (B)
Day 7
DINGLE PENINSULA
The Dingle Peninsula is one of the greatest places on earth for its amazing scenery and quaint Irish rural way of life. After our visit to the edge of Europe, we’ll head to one of Dingle’s local pubs to learn how to pour a proper pint of Guinness. (B)
Day 8
THE RING OF KERRY
The Ring of Kerry is an amazing drive with many stops along the way to enjoy fantastic views of the Kerry Mountains. We’ll also head to Muckross House and Gardens for a visit. (B)
Day 9
BANTRY – KINSALE
After breakfast we head to Blarney Castle, home to the famous Blarney Stone, for a visit. We arrive in Kinsale for two evenings (B)
Day 10
CORK
We begin the day with a Cork City Walking Tour with stops at places like the English Market as well as the Shandon Bells. We’ll visit Jameson’s Whiskey Distillery. Here we’ll learn how “the water of life” is crafted and distilled. (B)
Day 11
KINSALE – DUBLIN
After breakfast we’ll have a walk to Charles Fort, an old British stronghold. Stop at the Rock of Cashel, Ireland’s ancient capital where we’ll admire the scenic views of this majestic ruin. We journey to the Dublin area for a farewell dinner and our last night in Ireland. (B D)
Day 12
DUBLIN – BRAINERD
It’s time to say goodbye to the Emerald Isle. After breakfast we transfer to the Dublin airport for our flight home to Minnesota. (B)
